FC Winterthur started its Challenge League campaign with a tough setback as it lost 0:2 against Kriens, an ascended team from the Super League. The team is now only one point after two matches. Kriens scored first just before halftime through Martin François and added another goal in the 65th minute via Lukas Sliskovic, who previously played for Winterthur.
In a different match action of the season, Neuchâtel Xamax recorded the best start by winning twice. They secured a 2:1 victory at home against Kriens followed by another win in Wil, with Kosovar Eris Abedini scoring the winner via penalty in the 89th minute. The match between ambitious Yverdon and Étoile Carouge ended in a 1:1 draw.
On Saturday, Lausanne-Ouchy could join Xamax if they win against Aarau to secure six points and potentially overtake them at the top of the table.
