FC Winterthur must find a new U21 coach after Mario Cantaluppi leaves to join FC Basel. Cantaluppi had taken over the U21 team in November last year, after Jonas Uebersax moved up to the first team's coaching staff. Under his leadership, the U21 team finished the first league season in group 3 in 9th place. At FC Basel, the 52-year-old replaces the former assistant coach Matthias Kohler. The Basel team hopes that Cantaluppi will bring additional experience and 'red and blue DNA'. FC Winterthur will now have to find a new U21 coach. The club will make a decision in the coming days on who will take over the position. It is still unclear who the new coach will be, but it will certainly be someone who can develop the team further. FC Winterthur hopes that the new coach will be able to lead the team further and that the players will develop well.
